    By downloading the Libby or Overdrive app onto your electronic device you can set up an account that gives you access to the New Hampshire State Library Downloadable Book Consortium.

    You will need to know your 6-digit library account number that was given to you when you signed up at Maxfield Public Library.

    For those patrons who know their account numbers, be sure to add a 90 or 900 to the beginning of your account number to make a 6-digit number.

    For those who do not know their library account numbers, please feel free to email us at maxlib@comcast.net or call the library at 798-5153 and leave a message. We will work over the upcoming days to get back to you with your account information.

Contact Free Services begin Tuesday, July 28!

Maxfield Public Library will offer contact-free pick up services beginning Tuesday, July 28.

You can place your reserves through our online catalog at www.maxfieldlibrary.com (you will need your full library account number and PIN) or by calling the library at 798-5153 and speaking to a Maxfield Public Library staff member. Once your order is prepared, a staff member will call you to arrange for a pick up time. Unfortunately, browsing inside the library is not available at this time, but you can browse our online catalog 24 hours a day! And staff are ready with recommendations, too!

We ask that you do not leave requests in a voicemail. Instead, a staff member will call you back as soon as possible to help you directly.

All returned materials will be quarantined for at least 72 hours. Due to a change in our service hours, please allow up to one week for your requested items to be made available. With limited staffing we can only allow up to 10 items to be checked out at once.

Temporary Library Hours are:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 12-5
Thursday: 1pm-7pm

The Maxfield Public Library Book Drop is OPEN from Tuesday 11am - Friday 5pm only, including overnight.


Maxfield Public Library is offering limited services

Maxfield Public Library Board of Trustees and the Library management team have based all reopening decisions on the New Hampshire Libraries Association’s recommendation in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We currently offer limited services which include no contact pick up, computer use by appointment, and technical services (such as faxing, copying, and scanning) by appointment.

Please continue to check our Facebook page and the following websites for updates about when we plan to fully open the Library again. The decision to re-open the library and what services will be available will be made as Trustees and Library management receive additional guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the State of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Libraries Association, and local officials:
